Established since 1985, Viviers (UK) Ltd is Portsmouth’s premier fish market. Located on the historic Camber Quay in Old Portsmouth, the fish market is open to both trade customers and the public. We offer an extensive range of freshly caught local produce together with a wide and varied selection of frozen seafood.

The word “Viviers” is French for fish tank. Travel in France and you will frequently see the name Viviers – in Spain it is Viveros. We adopted the name as this explains the way we operate. We store live shellfish (crabs and lobsters) in large seawater tanks at our premises in Portsmouth. Shellfish is our speciality and we are the South Coast’s largest merchant of these species, the export of which is a major part of our business.

For the export market Viviers supplies marketable oysters in bulk, landed by the company’s own fleet and some 30-40 other local fishing vessels. For the home market oysters can be supplied fully purified from the company’s depuration centre.
